The Student Literacy & Media Showcase (SLAM) is designed to cultivate a love of reading and creative expression through art and digital media.

Kindergarten and First Grade students will be reading all SLAM Jr. and FLA titles at school but are encouraged to borrow them from the library and bring them home to share with families. Classes are recognized on the Morning Show when they complete the 15 SLAM Jr. titles.

Second Grade students are encouraged to read the 15 SLAM Jr. books independently and complete a quiz on booktaco. The booktaco app is located under the teacher page within Clever. Students will be celebrated on the Morning Show when they have completed the 15 SLAM Jr. books and quizzes, scoring 70% or greater.

Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade students are encouraged to read all the books they’re interested in reading and complete a quiz on booktaco if attending SLAM Lunch. The app is located under the teacher page within Clever. Information will come home with students about opportunities to attend Lunch & Learns with Mrs. Cannon. Students may pick the books they want to read and attend one or all the scheduled Lunches. Students who complete all 15 SLAM books will be celebrated on the Morning Show.
