Spring After School Enrichment is now OPEN!

 
-The Spring programs will run 10 weeks from Tuesday, January 21st through Thursday, April 2nd..
 
-After School Enrichment will run from 2:00-3:15 p.m. each day. Club costs are a one-time payment, not weekly, paid at registration.
 
-Please make sure to put your CHILD’S NAME when enrolling where it asks WHO will be attending clubs. Also, make sure to select the correct grade/teacher in the drop down box when signing up in the online form.
 
-Once selected, a club will stay in your shopping cart for 15 minutes.  If a club is showing that it's full, try it again in a few minutes, as other users may still have it in their shopping carts while they are browsing.
 
-You can register multiple students at a time-add each club to your cart and you will be promoted to choose the participants.

Spring Enrichment Information

 

SPRING 2019 REGISTRATION: WEB LINKS OPEN THURSDAY, JANUARY 9th AT 8AM AND WILL RUN THROUGH SUNDAY, JANUARY 12th AT 8PM.

  • The Spring programs will run Tuesday, January 21st through Thursday, April 2nd.

  • After School Enrichment will run from 2:00-3:15 p.m. each day. Club costs are a one-time

  • Music (Mrs. Chick and Mr. Namislo) teachers run their own “clubs” based on their schedule availability. Music Clubs run throughout the entire year, and Drama will follow the AEP Spring schedule. Please refer to Active for dates and times as these clubs are scheduled from 2:00-2:45 each day. All dismissal is GREEN LINE unless your child attends the YMCA.

2020 Spring After School Enrichment Club Descriptions (1/21-4/2) 

FitKids Boot Camp FitKids is taught by a certified personal trainer and designed to build strength, agility and confidence in a fun and supportive environment. This class will include obstacle courses, fitness games and functional movement - all designed to pair fun with physical fitness! Children will develop increased physical awareness, strength, agility, focus, consistency and develop a foundation for a lifetime of exercise. Tuesday, K-2; Wednesday, 3-5 

 

Early Engineering LLC: Early Engineering utilizes science and math concepts to solve engineering challenges. During our Spring session we will learning about the mechanics of structures in the world around us. Students will design & create their own skyscrapers, domes, truss and suspension bridges They will bring their prototypes home and then model their understanding of the models to their family and friends! Tuesday, K-2; Wednesday, 3-5 

 

Acting Up-It’s Showtime! Acting Up introduces students to theatre and performance! Students will experience the process of auditioning, learning lines, songs and choreography to put on a short play or musical. Students will build their confidence as they learn their parts, focus on teamwork and show off their brightest talents in a final performance for family and friends! Tuesday, K-2; Thursday, 3-5 

 

Active Play Yoga Presents Capoeira This Afro-Brazilian sport is an ideal multi-lateral training- combining yoga, martial arts, dance, acrobatics & music. Students enjoy a fun, educational and cultural experience. Tuesday 3-5; Wednesday, K-2 

 

My Lil’ Yogi My Lil' Yogi was founded by a former teacher and yoga enthusiast to foster relaxation, self-esteem and body awareness in children. Through fun and engaging in-school yoga classes, children build strength and confidence while learning to calm and refresh the mind. Thursday, K-2 

 

Basketball Basketball will focus on foundation skills, teamwork, sportsmanship and leadership. Qualified and trained coaches will instruct all classes. Tuesday, 1-5 

 

Bricks for Kidz Bricks 4 Kidz wants everyone to know just how AWESOME LEGO® can be! In our NEW FALL After School LEGO® class, your child will learn science, technology, engineering, math and the arts with a different LEGO® model build theme each week. Jurassic World, Sports, Superheroes, Minecraft, Pokemon, Roblox and STAR WARS to name a few! Your Master Builder will have a chance to create LEGO® robotic motorized models, color brick builds and our LEGO® Mosaics! Anything is possible in a Bricks 4 Kidz class...DON’T MISS THE FUN! Thursday, K-2 

 

Chess Learn new strategies, checkmates and openings from Coach Steve and his coaches at Board One Chess Academy! Chess Club will feature special pizza days, tournaments and prizes. Our coaches have the highest quality lesson plans and chess software, with a minimum of two instructors for top quality instruction. Tuesdays, 3-5; Wednesday, K-2 

 

Dance Students in 1-3 grade are introduced to all the elements of dance in ballet, jazz, tap, and hip hop. Students will work on rhythm, flexibility, movement, form and strength in a fun, creative environment. Tuesday, 1-3 

 

Flag Football Offered by Potential Sports and will be instructed by qualified and trained coaches focusing on fundamental skills, teaching teamwork, sportsmanship and leadership. Wednesday, 1-5 

 

Fun with Bots, Robotics Club Students will utilize Legos, motors and sensors to learn coding, mechanical and structural engineering along with troubleshooting and collaboration skills. We will build robots to complete a variety of tasks, limited only by students’ imaginations! K-5, children will be split into age-appropriate groups. Thursday, K-5 

 

Girls with Confidence, Girls Empowered Girls with Confidence, Girls Empowered Series: Each week we cover a topic that focuses on increasing confidence and self-esteem. Some topics for this series include: Girl Power, Being Brave, Exclusion & Bullying, Role Models, No One’s Perfect and Giving Back. Each week we will have a group discussion on a specific topic, games/activities and a creative art project. This series will also educate your girls about women in history who have been exceptional role models for each of these topics. Thursday, 1-5 

 

Got Game? Got Game? encourages creativity and teamwork through playground games and sports. This semester will feature intros to two sports-Ultimate Frisbee and Volleyball. Each club session will introduce kids to specific skills for each game, plus a group activity for the kids to participate in and play! Tuesday, 1-4 

 

Kickball Come have some good old-fashioned fun playing kickball led by Potential Sports! Practice good sportsmanship and learn the rules of kickball. Great exercise while learning how to be a team player, practice respect and have fun. Thursday, 1-5 

 

Mad Science In Mad Science, students will unlock the secrets of chemistry, physics, and FUN. This program is as educational as it is fun. The hands-on science programs cover different science topics including electricity, magnetism, optics, biology, and more. They are a perfect break between school, and homework! Wednesday, K-5, and class will be divided into age groups. 

 

Martial Arts Martial Arts is the perfect activity for kids! Physical Activity will keep them in shape and the positive attitude will keep them happy. Plus, the respect, courtesy and self-confidence will give them an advantage in school, relationships and in life. They will also learn some amazing self-defense skills at the same time! Taught by Martial Arts Advantage. Thursday K-5 

 

Photography Shutterbug Academy students get to express themselves through photography. Students not only learn the basics about using a camera, but also will learn about famous photographers such as Ansel Adams, Ann Geddes and William Wegman. They will learn about composition, the rule of thirds and other important factors in taking a good photograph. The students will write simple statements about their photographs each week and put them in a portfolio that they will take home at the end of the course. They will have an offsite student show at Kahwa Coffee. Tuesday, K-2; Wednesday, 3-5 

 

Running Club Make running fun! Inspiring youth to have a lifelong love of exercise. Each week we will build endurance, play games and learn the importance of physical activity, pacing, nutrition, goal setting and more. At the end of 10 weeks we will take on a 5K. Tuesday, 4-5; Wednesday, 4-5 

 

Soccer Shots Soccer Shots focuses on individual skill, fitness and sportsmanship, providing an opportunity for children to be challenged through fun games and team interaction. Children will also be introduced to competition in a developmentally appropriate manner. Tuesday, K only; Wednesday, 1-3 

 

Terrific Scientific, by the Prep Around the World Science by The Prep! Join us as we explore scientists and experiments from all over. Thursday, K-2 

 

Totally Art by The Prep Join us for a drawing class that exposes children to different mediums and helps them understand that there are no mistakes in art! Wednesday, 1-5
